what a bunch of dumbfucks.
refer to the old saying, if it works, dont fix it. ;)

i cant imagine what benifits come out of putting a turbo in the rear of the car. what could it possibly do other than "look under my hood, I dont have a turbo"

edit:

This picture shows how hot a traditional front mounted turbo system can get under full power.

Most components under the hood of today's vehicles were not designed to operate at this temperature. In order to place a turbo in an already overcrowded engine compartment it is necessary to do a lot more than just make some room for the turbo itself.

how many turbos on honda cars get this ------- hot?

::)

Re:well, if you saw the camaro, you knew it was only a matter of time.........

There was a article I read on the same type of setup on a Tacoma but I could see that on the v6/v8 setup with not having to deal with the dual manifold issue without doing a twin turbo setup. I looked like a pretty nice kit but damn that's alot of hardware(oilines,piping...) to use to mount it in the rear.

What is wrong with this setup? When under the hood it looks like intake/header/exhaust and you dust someone. It would be awesome...
I personally wouldnt do it. But it is definatly not a bad idea.

speed bumps, rain, puddles, all the extra piping, oil return issues, oil feed length, etc, etc. not very intelligent for a daily driver. they say spool time doesn't suffer, but i don't see how that's possible

Re:well, if you saw the camaro, you knew it was only a matter of time.........

the cost of all their other systems are $4000 and 5psi. ---- that.
i like how the oil fitting/line is the lowest part and is three inches above the rear diff. and the suspension is fully extended.

lagmonster on a honda motor id bet.

how do they do an oil return, another pump to push it back up front?

just more ---- to break.

could you imagine slapping your brand new precision sc61 on a speed bump and breaking the fucker?

the turbo looks connected to the body so i guess if you're gunna scrap the underside of your caro on speed bumps just shoot yourself anyways

Re:well, if you saw the camaro, you knew it was only a matter of time.........

i dont think it would be a good idea on a i4 FWD car, there is just too much room. but if you look at a newer v8 stuffed into a car, yuo'd be like where do i sign up for the remote turbo :P

Re:well, if you saw the camaro, you knew it was only a matter of time.........

I would put an oil pump in the back of my car so you wouldn't have to run long oil lines. But the the pump and th enew oil tank would out weigh the long oil lines. Its a bad idea for hondas but good for V8's. ^^what he said^^

i saw a black TA with this setup in person.........sleeper my ass, the turbo on that car was REDICULOUSLY loud; you'd only fool the most ignorant of people

I guess I'm missing the entire point. That system could get jacked in a matter of minutes, thats real cool! :P

Re:well, if you saw the camaro, you knew it was only a matter of time.........

About the lag.
I just viewed the video of the GTO.
When it shifts from 1st to 2nd you hear the turbo spin up and then a few seconds later you see the car react.
This is only in the first vid.

Re:well, if you saw the camaro, you knew it was only a matter of time.........

so basically you get a overpriced turbo kit without a intercooler but you dont need one since it gets cooled by the 10 foot of pipe just like they say the oil does.

whiterice 12-09-2004 12:48 PM

Re:well, if you saw the camaro, you knew it was only a matter of time.........

that thing is retarded. the filter is lower than the bumper. when it rains what do you do? mount another pipe that goes back to the engine bay? hehe

the charge piping is a joke:

i'm just thinking this makes it easier to make a compound turbo setup for my CRX. now i can put a t25 under the hood to feed one of those huge Holset turbos in the back and make like 2309849084093 pounds of boost on my stock d16. :P

Re:well, if you saw the camaro, you knew it was only a matter of time.........

look on the bright side- now you have a excuse to rev to 10000 rpms - so you can get your turbo to spool to 3 psi.

Re:well, if you saw the camaro, you knew it was only a matter of time.........

ok setup soso but since it is oil feed the oil has to be pumped backall the way to the front of the engine bay kinda stupid

Like Random Strike said this is a good option for huge v8s with tight engine bays and thats about it
