your not HMT if you dont have a dryer vent intake! it actualy works very well, I plan on keeping this on while street driving, then taking it off and putting on the velocity stack for race days
Attachment 16495

it rests on the bracket that used to hold the AC up i might add a bracket to hold the filter but its there very tightly

Seems odd that no one's really making a point that he's running a eBay turbo.

Hopefully yours doesn't fall apart within 500 miles. When it eventually does, I vote Holset.

These Ebay turbos are normally a stage 3 .63 a/r hot side and the compressor is a large t04e 60 trim and sometimes even 60-1.
In the case of this project right here, I think it's an overkill turbo that will lag forever. IMO, a stage 1 turbine wheel would kick-in MUCH faster. Or, To keep the room for grow of the stage 3 turbine wheel, I would at least switch turbine hosuing to .48 a/r although the chinese don't offer it. So, it Would have to be a real garrett housing.
Reliabilitywise, These knock offs have decent components: with just garrett internals and a good rebalancing, you can avoid the premature failure they are notorious for.

Re: well here is my build

thanks for the tip, the turbo is on a restrictor so it wond die as fast, check spdweb.net his ebay turbo has ran 20k+ the specs on it are a 57 trim t3/t4 should spool around 3600rpm im not looking for a around town turbo, i plan on tuning it to run lean down low so boost at 75mph isnt wanted, this turbo is sized perfect for what i wanted.

thanks for all the advice though guys appreciate it.

Sure, it's free to try it. and a 3600 RPM spool up is not that bad at all in certain applications.
The restrictor won't make the XSP turbo last longer. It will just retard the begining of the leakage due to premature wear of the bearings and seals. although you're right, a big laggy turbo might be less prone to wear and overheating than a quick spooling one.

thanks for looking out though, i ran the oil lines today and it seems like its going to work out. plus honestly if this turbo lasts me 10,000 miles i can buy 5 of them for the price of one garret lol
