Default welding on car??

i need to touch up a weld on my manifild and i want to do it on my car if posible

what do i need to do to weld on my car without ------ anything up?? disconect the bbattery, ecu or teh radio

I just leave everything attached. Just make sure you have no gas leaks or lots of oil buildup on your block. Otherwise weld away! Just watch out for sparks landing on ---- and just burn ---- thats plastic.

disconnect the battery, don't weld with it connected.

I would disconnect the battery to be safe. Make sure you get a good solid ground to your machine as well. Last week, where I work, someone did some welding on a piece of a ship we were building while the crane had it suspended. They forgot to attach a ground cable... current ran all through the unit being lifted, up the cable, through the entire crane, and fried all of the instruments in the cabin.

I weld on cars all the time at work with no problems but they do recomend to disconect the battery( I dont) :P whoever they are

lol i think basically what there sayin is dont hook the ground to anywhere but the manifold otherwise you may fry your electronics.

ive done exhaust welding on cars without taking the battery cable off, but i dont think id weld a manifold or anything else underhood without taking the cable off... sounds sketchy to me. Just be safe with it, it takes 20 sec to take off the cable...
