Do you know if it's still flowing water at 5k rpm? Is this thud only with a load on the motor and only in 3rd gear? Have you tried to replicate in idle while you got your head under the hood?

it's not so much that your windshielf fluid is explosive as it is that it's taking up space in the cylinder, just like fuel would.

it has to have load.. yes. 3rd gear is the only gear I've tried it in, but then again 3rd gear is the only gear my boost rises to around 8-9 psi. So it happens at 7psi+ and above or right at 5k rpm ONLY with water inj spraying It won't do it in any other case. Someone recently told me that yes, it's running too rich because of the meth...

This is a long shot.. but maybe you're getting too much water with that kind of psi and it's having a problem compressing everything and it's knocking?

Just a thought

Why can't you hit 7psi in 2nd or 4th gear?

I've got a manual boost controler (spring) between my wastegate and it's set to about 7psi. 1st gear full throttle only hits like 4psi because of how fast the gear is. 2nd gear hits 7 psi, but I've never water injected at that point. 3rd and 4th seem to spike up to 8-9psi once above 4k rpm. I also have a 2.5" straight exhaust that dumps under the car (dynomax race muffler)... I absolutly LOVE this exhaust and the sound is insane... cost me 60 bucks to make. The turbo is loud and clear in traffic and catches eyes. ha. I'm thinking that with this homemade boost controller and 2.5" exhaust, boost spike is expected unless I get an external wastegate that can handle the amount of exhaust flow. If the exhaust is getting out as fast as it wants, it will in some cases bypass the internal wastegate.. those things are small. I've been painting my exhaust manifold today with POR-20 paint so I haven't been able to run the car today. I've already made a new tune in turboedit so I'll test it out on saturday.

My BOV gets so much louder when I'm using water inj.. that's how I know it's working because of the dense compressed air.

It's def working man, that's a good thing.. see how that turboedit adjust goes this weekend.

Tell me more about your exhaust, so it's a freeflow to the dynomax muffler.. what series of dynomax? I was looking at their welded series which is like 1 step down from the SS one but flows like 50% more.. was looking at about a 3 inch, getting a set of twins of those. I'm looking for minimal noise but max flow. What do you have and give me some more specs.

thanks, ryan
