Havent you learned with a mbc yet? Keep that eye on the boost gauge nigga. If it goes past what you thought or wanted then let off. When I was using the pain in the ass greddy profec b-spec II I had to do the same thing till I got it set just right.

My XS power Tial Knockoff shipped with a brown spring in the WG and a Yellow one in the box. The yellow one is a 3.6 psi spring. The Brown one is noticeably stiffer and I am unsure of what psi it is.

That's the problem...they shipped a yellow spring with it, but the one that's in it hits 3.63 also. WTF did they do...ship me 2 of the same springs? :P

If they are two different sizes the put them together. Play with it for a second and you will see what I mean.

I dont think they know what size is in the WG I think they just toss in whatever spring you ordered to make sure you get the right one. Why dont you just use a MBC

That's probably what they did, and I probably now have 2 yellow 3.63psi springs. I have been cranking up on the mbc...need to crank it more ;)

Do what WTF said by using air pressure to test it.

Hook up a blowgun/nozzle to the air compressor, from there have rubber hose going to the wastegate, just 'T' in you boost guage and put it right next the the wastegate, slowly push/release air and watch them both.

ya i think that would work good if you have a way to control the air without letting to much out at once, i never got that far i said ---- it and ran it anyways

Re: Wastegate springs...cdm springs

I'm not even going to bother. I fixed my issue with a nice spring loaded one-way pcv valve (some solid metal peice too, very nice ;D) and now I can crank on it a bit more without having the increased vaccum load open my wastegate all the way at idle and part throttle. I took it to 8psi today, and I'm happy with it so I'll probably leave it at that. The car is going to do more auto-x action than anything these days, so moster amounts of power aren't really needed. Besides, it still makes my '04 wrx seem like a neon off the line and up through 4th gear ;D
