Default Wastegate preference

Somehow this question just poped into my head the other night. I personally run a 38mm tial that vents via a dump tube below the enigne compartment. Just wanted to get some opinions and see what everyone else does.

Internal because it's simple and effective for HMT style set-ups.

how does that work? Is your pressure lower on the external?

Vac source is switched. So that only one works at a time.

Thats my external Mounted on top of my HF manifold.... budget builds rule. Now if only it didn't come with a 4psi spring Even the 13psi spring I have isn't holding right... i'm jinxed i think. At least my cap was the fully adjustable one, 9psi outta it now... thats boost controllable enough for me.

ummm, theres only 2 springs for the audi wastegates. one is ~8-9 psi on the eirlyer modles, and the other is ~3-4 psi on the newer modles

the difference is the older modles didnt have an electronic boost control sylenoid, so they basically ran one boost regardless of engine condition. the later modles ran an ebc system, so when it was cold/hot or the motor was cold or the gas was a low grade octane, the ecu would pull boost.
