Default Wastegate Actuator Arm

Allright, I just picked up an IHI RHb5 turbo out of an MX6. I know that they are preset to 8psi however I would like to modify my actuator arm to lower that. Would I have to lengthen or shorten my arm?

Thanks!

Anyone have a good "how-to" on this?

yeah i know how u could do it. use one of those big long nuts. just goto home depot u will see em.

cut arm. thread both ends with a die. screw nut on then thread on the other side.
u might need to take it off to do this..

Oh yeah, I'm sure I'll end up removing the whole thing so I can measure it and cut it nice and clean. Thanks for the help dude.

Wow...good call, I never thought about that...Thanks again.

Also...this turbo is going on my del Sol S (D15B7 I believe it is...but its so slow I dont bother remembering)...Am I okay to assume that at 133k miles 8psi would be too much boost? I'd love to lower it to like 4psi to start and just a MBC to adjust it from there.

its not your motor, its your fuel management. if you got good fuel managment u can run 10psi.

As of right now I plan on just sticking with an FMU...Eventually down the road it'd be nice to pick up an AFC and DSM injectors and run the AFC hack.

So what do you think...lengthen or shorten?!
