i want to know how you can run 4 psi with an internal waste gate set for full open at 15psi? I know there is a way to just use a throttle spring instead of a wastegate, but i am not to sure of it. has any one done anything along thins line?

 

You would just have to get a spring that is the right strength to open with 4 psi of boost pressing on the wastegate. Should work.
But why would you only want 4 psi?

what turbo is it? you might be able to swap the WG with another one, modding the rod will cause slow spool.

 

the turbo is a IHI VJ11 out of who knows what. I also thought about moding the rod and came to the same concusion. I didn't buy the small turbo just to have it spool up slow.
