Re:warning: carb spring users
im not pissed at anyone, im just pissed at my luck. i've wanted a turbo wagon for a year now...and i got it. but now i dont. it's taunting me.
so we've come to a conclusion that there was tons of detonation...but i never heard anything. i was running open downpipe too, that might have been a problem. what would cause detonation...all this talk about poor tuning, i didnt even get a chance to tune it! i was counting on ghettodyne beeing overkill for tuning, but i guess not. im was using the base program 1 degree per psi and whatever the extra fuel was for the 450 injectors, i even have a walbro fuel pump. and my dizzy is a reman all the parts inside it are brand new! i had stock wires and stock plugs. well the plugs were an odd number. what if the plugs were a step hotter than the factory plugs? think that might do it? |
Re:warning: carb spring users
wait...you dont know how much fuel the 450s were putting in, or did i miss something
|
Re:warning: carb spring users
whatever the ghettodyne base fuel curves are is what the 450s were pushing. injectors should have been staying open for 10ms-14ms @ 9.5 psi.
i think i'll bum an a/f gauge off a buddy of mine if i try this again. |
Re:warning: carb spring users
thats fucked. mabey they were on there way out..
just the straw that broke the motors back :) |
Re:warning: carb spring users
really shouldn't have blown... I run 13psi daily on my 100K mile Z6, but then again I have low compression... Nothing I like more than telling honda guys I have 8.4/1 compression get 13psi by 3700rpm and runs great on 93oct.
