Forced Induction Custom FI Setup Questions

Default w/o being flamed, I'd like to get some feedback, opinions on my proposed setup

After reading Corky Bell's book I think I know what I want to do in relation to my turbo build up, I would like opinions or suggestions from experienced members of this board about what I have in mind.

I am going to boost my 04 Civic Vp. So it's a non vtec motor. My goal is to increase the "fun level" with a mild to moderate increase in power with a small turbo. Looking for traffic light to traffic light increase in power, not top end speed. My expected power increase will be estimated at 40hp - 80hp (respectively via formula's from corky bell's book) and a boost level of 6 - 8 psi. Knowing this so far, I know a rebuild of my motor won't be necessary for such a mild gain. I intend to do this with an internally wastegated T25 from a dsm though I may be considering a t3 as well. The injectors I will use will be from a rsx type-s which have a flow rate of 310cc's (or 330cc's) and have a maximum hp rating of 200hp. If there were ever a boost spike, this should allow adequate fuel to flow so as to not lean out and fry the motor. Since the expected boost will be low, I will use a piggy back ecu for fuel control and not ignition timing, (most likely e-manage or PCS). I am also under the impression that my fuel pump should be able to handle this increase, though my only concern at this point is wether or not the FPR in the tank will hender the necessary fuel pressure as well as the fuel system being a returnless fuel system. Of course all other necessary parts (blow-off valve, charge piping, down pipe) will be addressed after these core components are verified and/or altered as necessary.

I would appreciate any comments or suggestions.

Sounds like you're off to a good start. I've never worked with a returnless fuel system but I would imagine that the stock fuel pump would be fine as you won't be running higher pressure, just higher flow. A good investment would be in a wideband o2 sensor for tuning and keeping an eye on the fuel system. Good luck with your setup

Sounds decent, the only thing I'd be a little concerned about is the size of the injectors and whether or not they'll fit in there with no problems. I'm assuming they would? I dunno, never tried.

Other than that it sounds like a pretty modest setup that will probably leave you wanting more once you experience boost for the first time

Here's everything you need to know about the current Honduh returnless systems.

Stock pump is still good for a bit. I'm going to ASSume 300 whp like the older cars, but upgrading to an intank Walbro at some point for safety is always a good idea. Unless you're just that cheap (I am).

There is a borderline where upgrade to a Walbro is needed, but you can still get away with the stock intank FPR. You see a lot of Hyundaidata K-poops with Walbro + 550-650cc injectors like this. There are a lot of people that just have endless fuel pressure problems, usually with larger injector combos... you HAVE to run an aftermarket fuel rail and an external FPR, PERIOD.

so then what you are telling me is that I can run my stock rail, pump and fpr for this setup I'm describing?

Frankly, I have no experience with stock fuel pumps in the newer cars, but I'm going to ASSume they are exactly the same as the older cars and good for near-300 whp.

Worst case scenario, you need an $85 Walbro.
