vtec + boost is it bad
Hey, I'm new and I don't know much about turbos and boost. I have a d16y8 with 100K miles on it. I want to boost it maybe 5-7 psi. I'm looking for 180-200whp(hopefully). Now is it bad to boost a vtec motor untuned? Also do you think my motor can hold 7psi of boost? I'm doing a clutch and that is about it besides the turbo set up. Any info will be great. Thanks in advanced.

only thing is im going to be running stock injectors, but when im in boost then vtec comes on will that blow the motor? people have been saying that it will blow if its untuned, and i should unplug the solenoid.

(It will break, get a tune, and vtec has nothing to do with it)

Here's my three years of advice.
No matter how much boost you run, get chipped.
It's cheap; cheaper than an FMU/VAFC.
It saves your motor from blowing.
Your tune can be upgraded for pennies, if you know what you're doing.
EDIT: Btw, about your VTEC. Disconnect it and you'll be making a BIG mistake, chip the ECU and have VTEC at your leisure and you'll be set.
