is there a way to run lower boost then what the wastegate is set at. I want to run like 3 or 2 psi until I get it dyno tuned. because I'm going to have to wait until next month to get a good tune. but I want to be able to drive my car around for alittle.

O, you have a b18b.
I'm thinking of just buying a tdo5H-14b turbo. what do you think? |

Honestly, if i ever upgrade the turbo in my teg, im gonna get a CDM t3/to4e 57 trim like i had on my old DA with a b18a. Spooled around 2700 and full boost at 3500. Pulled real nice. BTW the parts on my DA were all ebay/CDM parts but still was smart enough to run engine management and the supporting fuel mods.

whats CDM? do you know how much you put down?
what do you think about the tdo5H-14b? I'm looking to get around 200hp for now. and some room for more. |
CDM= chinese domestic market lol
the 14b will get you to 200 but you will have to push maybe near 10 to 12 to reach that power level. i suggest the CDM t3/to4e .60/.63 57 trim. experiences with the turbo good. had good spooling characteristics and can put down more power at lower psi and has a lot more room to grow. some people are sketchy about the CDM parts especially the turbo but if thats the case, save up for a name brand one. with the CDM t3/to4e, i FELT around 5-7 psi i was near that power level. i was pushing 12 psi and a one time 15 spike on a stock block. if i were to guess, i was probably near 250 at least. but then again, butt dynos dont count. |
I hear to much bad stuff about those turbos. IDK. but I'm think about just getting the dam 14b. if this guy messages me back first.
since the 14b has a different flange then the t3, and I have a welder. I'm thinking I can make a custom top mount using the manifold I have now. like make a "J" or "c" pipe with a t3 on one side and the 14b on the other. using a really thick pipe. Have you ever seen turbos mounted side ways. like the hot side pointing almost directly down? I'm thinking it might not be good for the oil, but I have no experience with it. also haven't seen anyone do it. |
I'm about to buy these eBay Motors: 450cc Blue top 1G DSM injetors Talon Eclipse GSX turbo (item 270373479713 end time Apr-19-09 18:45:50 PDT)
and new o ring set too. so what did you use for engine management in the DA? |
NVM about the side mount.lol. I was right, its not good for the turbo.
|
haha yea. oil return like that wouldnt work out right
in the DA, i was using turboedit since i had obd0. |
well on the turbo I have now, does it make a difference if the oil return is pointing upwards? man, my volvo turbo fits really bad. LOL. I'm just wating on this guy to reply. I'll do some searching on turboedit. I really don't want to go all out on it and go OBD1, this is a budget build. LOL
