Got the new turbo in... Turbonetics :D got it from a buddy. T66 O0

Gotta hit the streets for some street tuning, then it goes off to the dyno for some more tuning and some numbers :y

then its off to strip again, hopefully we can hit 11.5s with this turbo :8

laters. :6

you're nowhere near cool enough for us to all what car you're talking about. Are you gonna run that bigass turbo with that ---- WG placement?

I think your missing 2 things OC & ZC

meh, it should work... this is just to see how far we can get with the stock block... its del sol with a h22 in it.. theres some vids and our setup somewhere on here... i dont post much on here, i just read and like to actually show ----.. not just talk ;)

You can't honestly expect that WG placement to work. If you did, I'd suggest pretending you were just joking and just come back with new pictures of the WG placed in a not ridiculous place.

Re: A very small update on my car ;)

do you run the wastegate open like that?

1slow91 07-10-2008 12:49 AM

Re: A very small update on my car ;)

i think its cause of it being basiclly just hooked to the denter 2 runners :l where as it should be down between the lower 2 runners by the turbo flange :-*

gfrg88 07-10-2008 01:00 AM

Re: A very small update on my car ;)

is the wg placing really that bad??? yeah, it is from the two center runners... no it wasnt finished there yet, it dumps into the dp... will this really affect performance where i placed it?? this is my first mani ive ever made so yeah, it seemed like the easiest way to do it :l

:'(

Re: A very small update on the del sol ;)

flames out the wastegate ftw! the point of a wastegate is to let the pressure out of the manifold and thats not gonna do what its intended to do with that mani. either get a different manifold or weld that ---- shut and use an internally gated turbo

moron no, noob yes

i actually think its backwards. moron yes, wasnt really thinking... n00b post count wise, yes.. cars nah ;)

where can i find an internally gated t66??? im gonna block that ---- off and just put it down where they merge together...

now your both

weld a 90 to the 2 pipes at the collector (right above your flange )
angel down for flow

http://www.full-race.com/catalog/ima...treet%20t3.jpg

That is a pretty basic WG location. Works relatively well but does require a larger WG typically. Larger frame turbos with a longer runner manifold you might want to jump to a 44mm WG if you want to be able to actually control your boost. Right now you will have very very very bad boost creep. I'm guessing you are going to run at least double whatever the spring pressure is. It would definitely be in your best interest to redo things.

Re: A very small update on the del sol ;)

they're giving you good advice. you will have boost creep out the ass, because your only bleeding off 2 of the 4 cylinders.
the other 2 will just keep on pushing through the turbine. you wont have any control of your boost

juce 07-10-2008 11:09 PM

Re: A very small update on the del sol ;)

How do you expect the outer cylinders to let off pressure. Are they going to flow all the way back up the inner two runners?
Theoretically I think this will work, and exactly ^^ is going to happen. The middle two are going to have super low pressure, and the outer two will fill the inner two before hitting the turbo. Terrible flow.

gfrg88 07-11-2008 12:18 AM

Re: A very small update on the del sol ;)

:1 okay, next time i should not just go grab some materials and start welding ---- together.. i might also not jus wanna worry about turbo placement next time..

anyways, that crodriguez guy is my brother in law lol.. he took the car out today for a good couple of runs on the highway.. said it runs good.. goes up to 8 pounds without a problem, and holds it pretty well.... dont knw... were tryin to get an old school mini, and swap a B into it and boost it.. thats our next project...

If you want a real manifold PM me I have just what you need :y

Not to mention he ran a ------- good time for where he was + pressure level he was at.

man, that is one shitty wg placement. but quick little car. i was there the first night you ran it (when the viper hit the brakes during a ------ test n tune lmao). 11.5s would be impressive. you going up this wednesday??? if so, ill be there again (but to watch my buddy's 4th gen lude, h22 stroker, boosted. puts down 535ish @ 15 psi). if so, cant wait to see your car run again. good luck with that mani.

oh, and what was wrong with that ebay special??? i bet it flows better, if its not cracked.

Id like to see some pics of the turbo setup from some different angles. I'm on the fence about keeping my STR manifold or making a custom manifold.

349 hp 10psi :y

Re: A very small update on the del sol ;)

he hasnt run the car yet. this will be the first time with it at the track. problem is, hes running street tires (falken azenis) because he doesnt have slicks yet. so im sure itll run some god awful 13 @ 130 lol. last time i road in it, he pinned the speedo at 140 like it was nothing. scared the ---- out of me. gave my buddies wrx a big ass head start rolling at about 80, and went around his ass like he was standing still. cant wait to see what it does, even on street tires.
