not very long. just pop it and go inside and smoke a bowl (<--or joint), when you get back its done

I used a screw drive and shoved in the valve till the valve broke Then let it sit for like 5 minutes then unhooked the lines. Some freon came out but it wasn't so bad. No reason to run. Its a good high too

dont be a -----, just press the release valve, hold it for some time, then unhook the lines. I just got rid of my AC, and still alive.

that release valve you talk about is actually just a schrader valve. get a valve stem core remover and take the one out of the high side and the low side. or be a cool guy and go to HF and get you a vacuum box and a set of gauges for 120 bucks
