valve stem seal question.. need some help
ok.. so I'm installing my valve stem seals.. almost done and I notice some of the rubber that attaches to the metal portion is ripping when I press them on with a 12mm socket.. it's not bad, but should I removed them and install another set? if so how the ---- do you put them on without ripping this part?

Re: valve stem seal question.. need some help
ok first put the valves in so it helps keep it straight.
make sure you put the seal over the valve stem before you use the 12mm socket to push them down.
i've done it a few times, i never use the plastic sleeve and i've never had a problem
i found one of these for free on craigslist so next time i get to use it

Your locks are square or bead groove? If bead, simply gently twist and slide down the valve. square groove requires a little more care. Then take a deep well socket that just fits over the rubber and tap it onto the guide.
