using intercooler for vacuum?

okay once the flaming is done, could someone tell me if i can use my intercooler for vacuum to the BOV and to the the external waste gate, it has four holes on it which where intended for running bolts through to hang the manifold but im thinking since it sits fine with two (its a small side mount) can i use the other two for vacuum or ---- it just seal em up

Re: using intercooler for vacuum?

No you can't. Vacuum sources need to be after the throttle body. If you ever run an electronic boost controler you'll need one of those ports, but aside from that cap them off.

See, not so hard. No flaming at all. (yet)

I was too lazy to read more than the first 4 words of the first 5 posts. So I'm going to guess you're talking about the top port on the wastegate that goes to a boost source pre-throttle body. That's for electronic boost controllers like I said in my original reply. You don't have to worry about that if you're using a manual controller.

If that's not what you were refering to, then give some cliff notes on that topic. Everyone here is too lazy to read that much. ;)

Re: using intercooler for vacuum?

man so all this time everyones been telling me to connect it to brake booster when i shouldnt be ?? so technically i can connect it to cooler?

and top one ill just leave bare which is fine bcuz im not running any controller

Re: using intercooler for vacuum?

Connecting your wastegate pre-throttle is for women and homosexuals. It slows spool time and limits part throttle boost. Yes, it does prevent part throttle compressor surge, but so does not driving like an idiot and trying to make 20psi at 30% throttle.

Re: using intercooler for vacuum?

fair enough, but that means i can connect it to cooler?
