Ok, installed the headgasket and everythings peachy. Started up. Thought I had fixed it but went for a drive and same freakin thing!

Setup:
ZC engine
t-25
hf
bmc adap
bluetop 450's
TE
Tyrus 5"

Symptoms:

When I go into boost the car bogs really bad and hardly accelerates. It bucks and acts like it's going to go, and then bogs. In higher gears it will hold boost without bogging but isn't fast.

Facts:

1) I installed the 450's before the turbo and it ran fine so not the problem.
2) The car ran n/a perfect.
3) Fuel management is not the problem, ran a rom with no boost and does the same thing.
4) Oil pressure is fine.
5) Can't really hear the bov.

Thoughts:

1) Fuel pump: Since I ran a rom with no boost, it's only giving enough fuel for 0 vac. So that can't be the problem.
2) Would a boost leak have these symptoms?
3) I'm going to plug the bov to see what happens.
4) If I can't figure this out I'm going to put the car back n/a and see if it runs like it did before.


I can't think of anything else. Mabye a bad o2, but would that affect it that badly?

Im thinking maybe the O2 sensor!!!!

My light came on when i was low on gas, and it started bucking back and forth when i tried to push the gas, and then i went and restarted the ecu and it was fine!!!!!! that was the only thing i got!!!

restart your ecu, if you got an ef, pull out the hazard fuse under the hood for a minute and then put back! let us know if this works

 

I'm not getting any cel's.

 

it really sounds like it's running too lean, too rich or has bad ignition.

 

when you say it hold boost in higher gears but isnt fast - is that dependant on throttle or just gearing?
If its gearing id check your vac lines.
if throttle maybe your o2's I hate car problems

 

Have you changed the fuel filter?

 

It only holds boost in third and fourth gear, havn't tried fifth. I'll check my vac. lines tommorrow. If that's all it is I'll be pissed. I changed my fuel filter before I put the turbo in so that can't be the problem. I just unplugged my o2 sensor to see what would happen and it read full rich and still had the bogging. I'm gonna try and use my friends o2 tomorrow and see if that changes anything.

How do your plugs look? Is the fuel filter in check? Air fuel and spark are what the motor needs to run.. have you tried to run air filterless? Unless you are seriously puffing black smoke out the back, but it does sound like a fuel cutoff/spark cutoff.
