better yet, just get another D16A6 engine, or a JDM D15Vtec and start there. both would cost probably about the same. or even a SOHC ZC or DOHC ZC

maybe you dont have the money for this. is this why you are askin? its ok, you can admit it. some of us are broke to. :slouchin in my chair:



yeah, if you wanna boost your HF motor. its cool. you will have more than some of us....

buddy of mine put a JRSC on his and a zex 55shot. Even with 235K miles, the car never made enough power to break.

Look at the HF intake/head/TB vs the A6 stuff and you'll see why one is 58-62hp and the other is 108hp..

I was told even HF injectors are 240cc... Could be wrong, but I can't imagine honda buying a totally different set of injectors just for a POS HF...

For the longest time I've always said never put a 16valve head on a HF but I've read about 4-5 guys who have put a6 heads on D15b6's without problems. You'd think the valves would hit. A few write ups were on www.hondaswap.com


The d15b8 which is basically a newer style HF engine in the EG's is only a 8valve as well, but has cut outs on all pistons for a 16 valve head.

I'd definatly try it.

are the rods smaller in an HF compared to an A6?

They look identicle to D15b2/b7 DX rods

I'm running this now! When the Z6 block blew I only had the CX motor usable. Swapped head/manifold and works great.
Pulls harder than when I had the D16Z6 in! Especially on the lower end.(Higher compression)B8 has flat top pistons and Z6 has dished. Even boosted it just fine.
Note:
Removed oil jet on block.
Had to use the CX timing belt.
Had to use CX pcv valve/tube/grommet.

I have a d15b2 motor that I'm putting a z6 head onto....

nothing like a d15z6

I'll swap the pistons for the virtata pistons becuase this motor has 205k miles on it and im sure the rings are ------ shot.

then i'll prolly post the little bitch block and we will see how far 15psi goes

should lots of fun for a little civic dx. a hell of a lot better than stock atleast.

The rods are the weakpoint in the D15, putting the vitara pistons in isnt going to give much insurance.
