Default Turboing D14A4 .. noob questions :)

For some time I've been thinking of adding turbo to mine Civic ('97 year), D14A4 engine (90HP).
I've been reading stuff about turbos, etc.. but I'd like to ask few questions here, hoping for some enlightenment

So, few things... first, I'd like to keep AC in my car .. 2nd, as it's D14 engine.. I know I can't expect too much. What I was hoping is to get some 6psi boost, and hopefully get to some 130HP, but making it much more driveable for city, aswell as to drive it somewhat faster on freeways (~120mph constant speed).

Which turbo would you suggest for 6psi? Preferably with less lag (thus smaller one).
Do you think D14 would handle it? People claim they can drive for some 300.000 miles without problems (stock that is), but wonder if I could expect even half mileage with turbo?
Would stock injectors/fuel pump suffice? What fuel management would u suggest (as it's OBD2)?

I know it's kinda lots of questions.. but if possible, please give some hints.

PS: I'm in Europe... so some parts are harder to find here - like engine replacement, etc... (as some other people suggested) - also on the other hand - having turboed honda with 1.4 would be kinda cool

I would say make a custom log manifold. Use a single turbo from a twin turbo dodge stealth rt or mitsubishi 3000gt. Run around 6psi with a good intercooler since you want to run for extended periods.. Also look for a good radiator. I was going to suggest a 12:1 fmu and a good fuel pump.. That would give you fuel pressures around 72psi which is not terrible. Use 2" charge pipes and about a 2 1/2" downpipe and straight through exhaust. The most important thing to make your engine survive is going to be having enough fuel. If you run lean at 120mph its going to blow.

That's what I thought for manifold... and that won't be a problem - as I have someone who's pretty good at welding.

New fuel pump is a must?
Btw, will driving at 120mph for extended period damage engine (if it's setup correctly - running it rich)?

Depending how high you run the fuel pressure the stock pump might be ok.. Thats kinda one of those things your gonna have to try out.

Running 120mph should not hurt assuming a few things. First you have enough cooling ability. More than likely at 120 you won't still be in boost. Second your fuel pump can handle the flow. The stock one might be fine.

Running at that speed almost any front mount should work fine.

Tnx for info!
Just one more thing - 12:1 fuel management - when connected normal ECU will still work and thin there's no turbo, right? While at higher rpm's it'll give more fuel, so there wont be problems with ECU, as it's OBD2?
Also, should I expect much higher fuel usage, even if driving 'normally' (city driving)?

PS: I'm aiming at 6psi of boost, so hope for that stock fuel pump will be OK.. o'well, when I get parts, and complete all that, we'll see

The fmu has a rising rate diaphram in it.. For ever one pound of boost it resticts 12 pounds of fuel.. So at 6psi boost your fuel pressure will be 72. At 0psi boost it will be stock. at 3 psi it will still be stock since I think stock is around 40. when you hit 4psi it will go up to 48. and so on. on the highway and normal non boost driving it will be the same as stock.

Use an FMU...rising rate fuel pressure regulator and a better fuelpump for sure.
A easy turbo ti find in Europe for you 1.4 liter is a KKK K03. They're small, but a good size for your engine.
I live in Europe to and see those crappy 1.4 civic's everyday.
