I have the same car and motor and plan to do the same thing. 2.4 liters will spool a straight T4 with no problems.

You can use the old fashion FMU and SAFC for fuel but I am sure you are limited on the boost. JWT ECU's suck because you can't tune on the fly or datalogg. Its just a tuned ECU. I say go standalone if you can.

You can turbo any car with an FMU and bigger fuel pump.

Can you even turbo a car that doesn't have a "return style" fuel system with a FMU ?? I didn't think you could...

if you look at the sds website, there is a lot of info on turbocharging and stand alone engine management.

http://www.sdsefi.com/features/240sx.htm

This is a ka24 that sds turbocharged and it puts out some good power.

I don't think your budget is enough for half of the suggestion given so far. With only $1500 you will have to find plenty of cheap used parts. A basic new T4 turbo will cost $1000.

Go for it!! I got a GA16DE crap *** nissan motor and that sucker is about to be swallowing some boost
This is homemadeturbo!! I may be a newb here but boost it from what I hear the ka motor has the biggest crank journals of any nissan four plus oil squirting piston cooling crap. Sounds like a good base to me. By the way I think I got the same type stupid injector setup so if anyone knows of a good swap post up!

I didn't know Nissan owners were allowed to post

Just use an AFC that would work...You don't have to worry about CEL from map sensor signals....nissan uses MAF as far as I know...Just boost the damn thing...get a AFC sum bigger injectors voila that's good enough fuel management.
Get a nice T3/T4 or you could get a big T3
