Doe's anyone know who much boost you can run on a 2000 toyota celica Gt(1ZZGE engine)? When I install the turbo I know I have to relocate the connections on the intake. Because it uses a MAF not MAP sensor do I have to reciculate the blow off (like the eclipses) back in to the system to make the car correctly?

I dont have an answer for you, but there was a turbo celica gts at battle of the imports. it was pretty sweet. my friend wants to turbo his celica too. that was no help at all, but at least someone replied.

i know of a few 1zzfe turbo motors out... they all run VERY limited boost even the one i know running a TEC3

one person i know that has a good bit of info on the subject would be BetrHalfOf8Legs or 8Legs over at www.mr2ownersclub.com (mkIII mr2 spyder) i belive they where running 5psi or so before the tec3 EMS install... they have upped it a bit... 8psi maybe... they built this mostly as a track car/canyon carver not a 1320 runner... i'm sure w/ the setup they have and a larger turbo they could be very quick in the 1320... but they are content w/ the power to weight they have.

i'm sure asking over at places like newcelica.net would give some good info also.

As far as how much boost you can run on the 11:1 1zzge engine, it depends on the level of commitment you have to this project. On stock internals w/ stock compression w/ TEC3, i wouldnt run anymore than 10 psi. The biggest problem is the high compression, and to combat this you have some options. The BEST is to rebuild the entire bottome end with foeged components (most importan is a set of low compression pistons), or you could use a headgasket to lower compression, but the results are marginal and this does nothing in terms of rotating assembly strength. 2000civicsi and I are both trying to figure this out. We talked to some people at a local import shop and they said that the fuel system is just like the new K-series Honda engines. They also think that and additional fuel injectors that can be rigged as boost dependent can be utilized. We'll see......

I might be doing a full kit on a local gt.. if you look at the fuel rail you should be able to see if there is a return line coming off the other end. If they don't have a return line then the fmu idea is out. I will probably run an EIC on it then. You should be able to vent the bov.. it won't stall. I have not actually looked at this car yet. Its suppose to be pretty wild.. its a wide body with 19" rims. 19*10 in the rear.. He has won best of show at alot of places.. This will be good advertisment if he gets it.

The new Celica has a returnless fuel system, therfore a rising rate regulator is out of the question. Although not a Toyota, GReddy turboed an RSX and used E-Manage to control the injector duty cycles to give more fuel. Not sure on the ability to E-Manage a Celica as of now. If it was me, I would use a SDS ExtraInjectorController and use 1, 2, or 3 450cc DSM injectors depending on boost. With this, the factory fuel system would handle off boost fueling needs, and the EIC would assist on boost. This setup would work perfecto on a 10psi or less setup, and ideally should be dyno tuned.
