Which turbo would you suggest for a 1.8L miata?
I know I'm not a noob, but I suck at turbo math :/
Just wanted to get some opinions before I buy. Im interested in doing a 1.8 Turbo. I havent purchased the car yet but I'm weird and want to have all the turbo junk waiting so I can boost it immediatly.
Choices are:
a) T3 .42/.48
b) T3 .60/.63
I want to do about 250rwhp at the track, ~200-200 daily. The car will be converted to MAP (MS&S) and running 450cc injectors.
Should the .42/.48 suffice for 250rwhp? Or should I go with the larger .60/.63?
Thanks in advance for any help from knowledgeable turbo-gurus

The .42/.48 would be fun to drive and spool quick as ----, but I don't think that it will make 250 hp... I could be wrong though seeing as I have never driven a miata in my life.
I would totally use the .60/.63 over that little turbo any day. I don't like to boost at part throttle and I like a little lag. ---- it probably wouldn't even be that laggy.

a straight t3 would do but they dont call the t3/t4 the miracle turbo for hondas just for fun. a honda is 1.8 as well. im sure you could get away with a straight t3 63/60 but a t3t4 would do its justice just fine.

I've got a t3/t4 sitting around that I'm supposed to sell to a friend of mine. I feel bad indian-selling it becaues I kinda already promised it to him. Plus im selling it for $400 and I can pick up a straight t3 for $200, thus making $200 which I can spend on other stuff.

haha that'll work jess. make 200 out of it for other ----. jus hope your kit works out better then this local kid. he hada 98 miata with the greddy kit on it. he got a whopping 12hp out of the 3,000 dollar kit at like 6psi. some ---- like that. i remember they dyno'd it before. put the kit, dyno'd after and that's all it got. mighta been more like 20hp at 6psi but either way that would suck **** for the troubles.

i didnt say his kit was perfect, i was jus saying hope his works out better lol. i kno jess knows what he's doing. he did jus have almost a 300hp KA torque monster running 13's in a 240sx tuna boat. im not doubting him in any way. just givin a heads up on one that i saw.

The greddy kits suck ***. No FMIC, and an FMU. A friend of mine bought a car with the kit already on it and said it was **** slow. Im kinda debating on keeping the t3/t4. I'll see how my buddy takes the news.
