you dont need it, but if you dont have it its very important that you let your car idle before shutting it off.

If your turbo has the option to water cool, then why not? It's only 2 hoses and it can help the life span of your turbo and save you time everytime you drive it.

well if your turbo is watercooled then there is no need for a turbo timer...but regardless id still let it idle for like 20-30 secs after driving even if it is watercooled...

and yeh why not if it has the option to

My stock turbo was water cooled and there are at least three warning stickers in my car telling you to let the car idle 20-130 seconds after highway or hard driving or serious engine damage will occur. Also, water cooled turbos need to be water cooled, without the water your seriously killing the long term life of your turbocharger.

sorry, I don't know where to get the fitting, but I just decided how I'm going to do it if I decide to use a water cooled turbo: I removed all my heating/cooling ---- including my heater core, so I had to just route that hose back to where the return is, so I will use those 2 hoses for my turbo, and I don't have to worry about gravity helping me so much with that one because the water pump should be bangin, shouldn't it?

You don't need to use the water option on the turbo. It cools the turbo off better, but it's not needed. It also heats your motor up more since the coolant is getting super heated by the turbo.

Maybe someone could explain to me what serious "engine damage" can occur if you don't let it idle for 20-130 seconds. I can see the turbo getting a nice coating of burnt oil, but the motor shouldn't be affected any more than a naturally aspirated motor would(unless your EGT is like 1400+ at shutdown).

Water cooling is not necessary.
