which turbo to use (dohc zc)
 

hey guys, im deciding which turbo i want to use with my dohc zc...

my plans are to go with either a 14b or a 20g... i have the manifold for it so you know..

forged internals so im safe.. i can max out that 14b all day and not even come close to killing the motor...

so now, which to use? street tires and no lsd on an si trans, i wanna slap camaros around. im thinking the nice spool and safety of the 14b would be nice, get it tuned and when i want to upgrade throw on a 20g and tune again...

wont i just spin the tires with the 20g and be pretty damn slow?

get the 20g why buy a 14b just to have plans to upgrade. spend the money once 14b will be out of breath to early and you will just want a 20g after that so skip getting the 14b

ha should have mentioned... i have the 14b sitting in my room mounted to the manifold....

see im still in need of... map sensor, charge pipes, wastegate, bov, tune, oil lines, charges @ machine shop...

im started to go broke.

i can get you a bov and pipe that goes with it if you need it on the quickness and cheapness
EDIT: I also have an adjustable wastegate actuator. i dont know if it will fit on a 14b but im sure if it doesnt then it will with a new bracket

well im kinda throwing that 14b out the window.. its kinda boring. imean cool spoll times with full boost at likek 3K but still, i wanna hit 300whp. going to jeff evans hopefully.

I still have that 20G you wanted. It was about to get traded and then the trade ended up being sub par, so I still have the turbo. Maybe it was meant to be. PM me if you still want it. I have a BOV for ya too.

Why the ---- dont you just build a different manifold or weld a t3 flange on? It's eazy.

Chopsaw+flange=universal manifold

Universal manifold+(t3 flange x welding) = t3 manifold

If you dont want to run a mitsufeces turbo, dont. T3's are easier to find and are everywhere and 9 times out of 10 outperform said mitsufeces.....

This is exactly why i dont sell ---- on this site anymore. All my stuff goes straight to ebay simply because i dont like people asking gobs of questions about things as simple as intercooler pipes or blow off valves.....or outputs of turbos that are listed in things like BOOKS AND WEBSITES.

Oh and, this is home made turbo. You buy ----, you slap it on. If it doesn't work, sell it and try something else.

300hp on a 14b has been done but you're an idiot so just run something that you can reach 300 at with the crank of a knob.

For a guaranteed 300whp a 20G is a better choice. A TD05H 20G will spool almost identical to the e316g, but it has a big enough compressor that it'll lay down 300 at lower boost than the e316g will. No doubt an e316g can get 300+whp if properly supported, but he can get a 20G for almost the same price so why not?

People have gone so far what's beyond necessary to help this guy.

I bent over backwards pretty much trying to help him out info-wise and even offered to sell him a decent part at a fair price and here he is again asking the same ---- like we're all spoon-feeding him lies. That pisses me off more than anything really. Everyone was helpful in his thread and here he is again with the same thread, the same situation and nothing has changed. It's like he wiped out the fact we all tried our best to point him in the right direction without being complete dickfaces about it.

If more people had the respect values i did yamaha, they'd tell you to go ---- yourself. Here's one guy offering to sell you a turbo and bov that will meet all your needs. You passed it up the first time he offered. Here he is offering again trying to help you out. I suggest you work out some sort of deal. Not everyone on here is that nice.

I agree with that statement. I took the time to take pictures and even make a video of the 20G he wanted and as soon as I sent them he replied with some bullshit and then never responded. I'm offering mine cheaper than I've ever seen one go for in good shape and I guess that's still not good enough for his :8 ass. Fine with me. He's probably the type of buyer who starts blowing up your inbox asking where his ---- is at after paying 15 minutes ago. I offered him the deal of the month on the turbo he wants and he passed it up, so at this point he can DIAF and go buy an Ebay 20G that'll fit his budget (even though mines still cheaper haha). Typical nga with no money that asks for pictures all the time and never buys a thing. Waste of time trying to help this guy out.

i didnt mean to not respond i if hadnt, just me not being on for a while gets me forgetting...

i have just put so much money into my motor (and its not back together yet) that im taking change to the bank to turn into cash... not fun. im litterally taking my paychecks, cashing them, and handing them to people... so yea im a little tight on money...

i appreciate you making the video and all and i havent forgot about you, believe me. just right now putting gas in my 35mpg civic is a problem.. ya know?

all i wanted to know, was if someone on here suggested the lack of power but nice spool times of the 14b over the power and possible blow up that a 20g would create.. thats all...

but why every time you ask a question, you get blown up? isnt that the point of a forum, to ask questions.............

Dam yamaha, you are one big flake. Why did you ask for all those pictures and info if you don't have the money? You think people want to work for free? You should've known how expensive it is to build a motor before you began. You lack proper planning. You're lucky you got these people here trying to help you out.

i had 1200 for spending... until i got into the whole motor building part of it..

then came wiescos, and h beams, and acl race bearings, and machine shop work and balancing etc, thats all
