I dont use simply because I ran out of money on my project. But I usually wait about 30 seconds, and park on a hill so the oil and ---- can run out. Now that I read this thread, I dont think I will be buying one either.

ebay. you can find a greddy full auto timer for cheap. if its fairly cool outside i set it for 10, but its over 100 today, so i have been letting it run for 3 minutes just to be safe.
oh, and not all turbos are cheaper than the turbo timer. it really is cheap insurance, and can save you the hassle of having to take everything apart when it could have been avoided.
