Turbo Suzuki Bike project CARBURATOR questions

My bike was originally a 2004 suzuki Bandit 1200x (gsf1200)
I went street fighter, and now all i need is a turbo!!!!

So i was thinking about a drawthrough setup, but there's too many bugs with that, and i want to take on the harder task of converting my carbs to a blow through setup.

I plan on using the header i have on it now to cut up and make my manifold. I wanna use just a small stock dsm turbo. I've also researched that all i need are a some stiffer springs for the clutch pack to handle 220hp. 10psi should get me to 200 Goal i have, and ive researched that the block can handle that just fine, stock.

Now, i'm not familiar with a blow through setup, or the conversion process~ So i'm not entirely sure how it works... I know i'd have to pressurize the tank, but wouldn't it be pressurized anyway because of the return liine? As well as the tops of the carbs, the slide springs, etc? Also, i know i'll be needing a Jet kit, that i can handle.
I can handle EFI just fine on a honda, but this is the new job!
One more question i have, is how do you think i should tackle the issue of the float bowls collapsing under pressure?

Here's my bike that it'll be going on:

That really doesn't pertain to a motorcycle carb at all, nor does it help me really. I saw that when i searched google too, but thats an entirely different type of carb, a Double pump carb to be exact, top mount for an old v8.

But thanks for the link / help.

Off topic I know but just wanted to say thats a nice looking bike. Real mean looking. I've never liked bikes without fairing, but this one is nice. Good luck with the build

Re: Turbo Suzuki Bike project CARBURATOR questions

JoshMO- Thanks ;D

So, i've done more research, what i've learned:

I need to put a nipple on the top of each float bowl, and source a vaccum line to each from the charge pipe. A pitot tube style inlet on the charge pipe works best. Also need to lower the floats 2mm's each.

Also have to get a new petcock, and inline fuel pump and regulator, and return line to the tank.

I'll have to resize the main jet, but not by too much. Also, with a 16g turbo, i'll need 13-14psi to get 200hp.

That's the extent of my research so far... can't wait to start this project.

Still more to learn, and any more advice / help from y'all would be appreciated :y

So that's the plan. I don't think i'm going to run an intercooler, just because of space, and i like the naked look of the bike.

I need to weld up a manifold... I know i can get a turbo flange on egay, but where can i pickup some bends to make the manifold out of? I'd like stainless steel, but i can do with regular steel or iron~
I saw someone on here buy some bends to make a manifold, anyone know where they got it?

Time to shop for:
Inline fuel pump (outboard boat 12v fuel pump) $15
1:1 pressure regulator $89 (egay)
weldable bends to make the manifold ???????
SSQV bov $50 (egay)
130 to 140 main jets, see which run best $20
boost guage $20
16g, or t25 turbo, or smaller $100 used
misc. oil lines... $50

Prices are wishful... If i can do this whole ordeal for less than 300$ i'll be souped. Turbo bike for >300$ !!!!!!!!!
HMT ftw

16G's bring a pretty good penny. I'd say just get a T25 or a 14B. Cool setup though. Post some pics of the build once you get started. Oh sexy bike too. I love naked bikes.

Some info, maybe you already know these links... Anyways,

http://turbo-bike.com/ Some info on blowthrough in there, especially in the R1 thread, many examples of many bikes

HMT's tough-guy could help you also (Zx6R turbo thread on this current site somewhere)

http://zrxoa.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=148 Many ZRX owners are installing a turbo setups, mainly blowthroughs

Good luck, dont forget your get prepaid funeral arrangements ;)
