I want to pull a turbo off of a Mekur(or t-bird) maybe are they big enough stock turbos. I know my engine happens to be the same displcement but do most ppl upgrade their Merkur(t-bird also) stock turbo right away like ppl with AUdi 1.8T's cause the stock turbo on a 1.8T blows. (well i guess doesn't blow..lol)

Can anyone put .60/.63 to a name of a well known turbo to give me an idea of size. I was thinking super 60 t3 or is this not that big.

 

most people can get around 300hp with the stock T3. The eff at that point is about 62%. What are your HP goals? Ive upgraded my turbo only because I am past the 300 point, so I needed something bigger. Ive run 20psi on a stock T3 with no probs. My stock T3 was .60/.48 to give you an idea.

 

I had a red turbo meurker for awhile, I rebuilt that POS engine, the head was cracked, the radiator was cracked, god what a ------- mess. I did a hardcore backyard rebuild on that SOB and sold it ASAP! (lost big time!)

 

thanks that helps alot i am only gonna run 6-9 psi. My HP goal is prolly 220 at the wheels no more(2.3 accord). Well more is better but not on a 4dr Accord lol...gonna wait till i get a lighter sportier car then i will go nutz with the turbo. Can afford to have my accord in the shop a lot.

 

you gotta get one that was taken care of. I just put mine in for an upgrade, and the only prob I have had was my turbo went on me. It had 120k+ miles on it. Otherwise, it runs strong.
