Default A Turbo Project gone bad!!!

I can't remember who it was that posted a thread and was talking about turboing a MX3 or Probe but I said I would post my cousins mazda we turbo'd.

This is a project that though it may have been a good concept, somewhere along the line it became a mishap of EPIC porportions(In more than one way)
Anyway this project taught us a lot.

The Cliff notes would be..........."Get you Car Tuned. PERIOD!!!!!!!!"

Here the Car and Specs:

1996 Mazda Millenia
2.5 KLZ V6 engine(Factory Rating of 170hp)
Custom Turbo Kit
Supra CT26 Turbo(Polished by Me)
Custom Intercooler 2.5in Piping(Powdercoated "Flamer" Red:gay
Custom 2.5in Downpipe thermal wrapped
Custom Battery Relocation Kit
Custom Heat Shield
Custom 2.5in Powertech Exhaust(Mercer Special)
255lph Walbro fuel pump
Turbo timer
1st Gen Mitsu BOV(re-circ'd)
Mistu Starion FMIC
Stock injectors (Mistake #1)
Stock ECU (Mistake #2)
Never Dyno'd (Mistake #3)
Raced at the 1/8 Mile UNTUNED (Mistake #4)
and Raced Me in a KIA Optima V6 (Mistake #5) He lost and Threw a rod

Mistake #5 was the deal breaker. Sad but painfully Hilarious, trust me you had to be there, plus he got by a KIA.

So all that work and he didnt do anything for fuel management What a waste of a motor, the kit other than the super gay red pipes didnt look to bad I just dont understand why you would go through all the work and then not even bother to add any fuel Like at least a FMU.

fuel pump, fmu and something to retard timing thing would of been fine. Fmu's arent that bad they atleast work for simple low psi set ups.

Yep and thats the problem. We had the FMU but no injectors and nothing to retard the timing.

Dude, he had a turbo timer. When you've got a turbo timer, you dont need waste money on fuel management.

That was Brandon using a Holset with Megasquirt. He ended short of 400hp on a JY motor that smoked from day one:
