Re:Turbo Project

make sure u research for a while before u do anything..

10 grand jesus ----, *rubs hands*

lovefab manifold. www.lovefab.com

internals u might wanna sleeve it with the cash u got, throw some JE's SRP pistons into with mated with some crower rods, or pauters if your serious.

DONT get a blockgaurd get it sleeved by golden eagle, benson, or darton.

might wanna get the head ported and polished then throw some ferrera SS valves in there.

anything else?

Re:Turbo Project

hmmm $10,000 you say, i'd buy a CRX HF(1800 lbs.) drop the b16a2 and throw a greddy turbo kit on it, 3 inch exhuast all the way through with no cat, some hardcore suspension work and some 17's with slicks, that would be a fast ass car.

Did you forget where you're at partner? Anybody who is serious about building a high horsepower motor WOULD NOT BUY A PRE-FAB KIT, especialy a Greddy kit.

no i have to say that if i had the money i would have probably have bought a kit, and by having the money i mean $10,000, wouldnt you, you dont have to worry about it not working, you dont have to collect the parts, you just order it online and bam it even comes with directions.

Re:Turbo Project

the new greddy kits dont come with the "blue box" anymore, they come with a pre-programmed e-manage unit, so you could change everything around when running higher boost.

Re:Turbo Project

Well, no. I'm not a fan of Greddy anything. You would be limited to the amount of HP you could reach. For the small things like oil lines, couplers, fittings, piping, I might consider buying some sort of "kit", but not the key turbo components(turbo, manifold,...). How is a kit more reliable than a custom setup? If it is done right the first time you don't have to worry about it. Plus, I like to pick my own parts. I don't want to be stuck with the parts that are included in the kit. I wouldn't even use most of them, maybe the intercooler.....

Re:Turbo Project

well id use the t3/t4 turbo the b16a2 kit comes with, but i wasent talking just about a high horsepower car, i was thinking more light weight and 10-11 seconds is to fast for a dailey driver, my girl friend drives my car when i;ve had too much to drink and im sure you wouldnt want your girlfriend who barely drives a stick driving a 10 second car? your talking more about full race setup than daily driving.

the greddy kits dont come with 18g's anymore?...hmm, and just turn the boost down when your girl drives, or have her drive her car when you go drinking...or sleep in your car
