If you're comfortable using water line that is not rated for heat on your motor, then go for it.
I bought mine off ebay. I think it was about $80 or so. It was a complete kit with return.

mcmaster.com sells premade braided teflon lines with NPT swivel fittings for about $17.
look up part # 4468K225, it gives you the option of how long you want it.
they also sell the adapter fittings in stainless steel (which won't break off like brass will).
part# 4092K26 NPT male > BSPT female $5.24
