You might want to find an RX7 board on this one. Wankles can be boosted to extream amounts, but you have to know how to build them and up keep them. Also if you have to pass emissions you need to address that issue first.

Your best bet is to use the stock exhaust manifold and turbo from a turbo II. Visit rx7club.com or nopistons.com and search search search for hours and hours, days and days.

it would be a bad idea to boost the na rotary motor in a secound gen rx7 it has a much higher comp. ratio compaired to the turbo II models why not just do a motor swap

With proper tuning there will be no issues with the higher compression ratio.

I would get new rods/pistons for starters.

He will get away much cheaper swapping the stock components. Seriously going from an NA fc to a turbo II is plenty to begin with. Try to get the later year manifold and turbo since they have a divided turbine housing and twin wastegate ports.
Just buying a single turbo setup will set you back a chunk of change. I paid $3,300 for my Greddy t-78 kit years ago. Well designed though. No clearance issues on my fd.
