Turbo inlet fitting necessary?

Re:Turbo inlet fitting necessary?
you can run a vacuum line from the wastegate actuator to the intake manifold, and it will be fine.
The 14b Wastegate port nipple is on the little adapter flange that comes off the compressor housing. (not shown in any of your pics)
the intake manifold works fine for boost source.

There are good/bad things about where you source the wastegate signal. If you source it off the intake manifold then your turbo will make as much boost as it takes to get the manifold to the desired psi. If you source it off the turbo housing then the turbo only makes as much boost as it's wastegate is set to, and it might not be the same psi that your engine actually sees. What I used to do is hook up my boost Guage to the compressor outlet, then switch it to the intake manifold every once in awhile to see how many psi are lost between the turbo outlet and the intake manifold. GOOD LUCK!!!
