ok well i got the blown turbo for almost dirt cheap...he was going to use it on his fully built ls/vTAKK but he wanted bigger so he never rebuilt it..he bought it and kinda just threw it to the side..its smaller t3/t4 im not sure of the size..the AR housing say M12 im pretty sure its a .48/.57 trim. is it good enough to make 400hp or over on a built sohc?.i was going to rebild it but not sure if it will be worth it..it has a turbonetic..s hot side it even has the little badge..but the cold side only says m12 kinda plain looking like a ching chong meow turbo..but then again the housing has been grounded down if you look close you can see where they ground it down...also the shaft is a little rough how could i clean it up a little bit? and on the rebild should i buy a new center section?..is it big or small shaft?.. any good references to turbo rebuilt kits? thanks for the help this will get me 1 step to getting boosted again

well the guy who origianlly had it didnt buy crapp stuff..but he was a hardcore ricer...he bought the turbo and blew it up but i think his ricer actions made him grind down the rest of the housing...but then again who knows it might be a turbonectics/ching ching meow hybrid...i checked the number on the turbonetice housing and its a .48 and the compressor side is a .57 ...should i just rebuild it?

actually i was on turbo netics.com..and noticed you can buy compressor housings ,shafts and turbine wheels seperate...would it be better i i bought a newcenter section...rebuild kit and new shaft compressor housing and turbine wheels....i mean this is all i got and cant really afford to buy a brand new t3/t4....but slowly im building a motor to push around 400hp...is it even achieveable with this turbo?

No, it's a straight slanty eyed turbo. They started casting the Turbonetics "T" in the turbine housing. Also the compressor housing is definitely chinese, look at the finish of the aluminum.

the only reason i said something is because the exaust housing had a number on it...i searched turbonetics and found the housing # on the site

i hope you got that for free or damn close....looks like a straight t3 turbo and with those numbers you wont be hitting 400hp more like 2-250 then it will be out of its efficiency range and die out

ya i did get for 10 bux and a center consel hahah..anyway i have to rebuild it no matter what...im going to rebuild it with all new turbonetics parts including shaft and center section...is it sossible to change he compressor housing..and if it is what size housing and fan would make my car be able to hit 400+ hp...would a .48 .60 or.63 work good? is it possible?
