Is This Turbo I Bought Absolutely No Good?
lol, couldnt think of what to call the thread. I just bought this turbo from mahcivic, its a T3 .60/.63
Just edited this because I was just told this snail is completel garbage, because of the shaft play. If you look at the turbo the play Im talking about is from the right side to the left side. In the first pic, the gold fitting on the compressor housing (just one) is used to run a vacuum line to your wastegate, internal or external. The other two brass fittings on the center of the turbo look like they're for coolant lines. The blue fitting will be your oil inlet.
In the second pic, you can use a downpipe flange that only has the hole for the turbine outlet, and block off the other (internal wastegate). Or you can just get the flapper welded closed. Either way. Then you'll need to have a flange welded to your manifold to connect an external wg. Third pic is your oil return. Fourth pic, yes, that's what you connect the filter to... and if you don't have a gasket for connecting it to the compressor housing, at least use some gasket material. |

Ya Id easily make a gasket for the intake connector Kind of cool that I actually have the turbo now and can figure out exactly how everything works |

thats how it came. go get a 2.5 inch to 1.5 inch reducer for it. thats what i was had so i could hook it up to my 2.5 inch intercooler piping. so you like the turbo? sweet glad i could help someone out :) i want to see some good numbers with it :P

yea i know it was. i was under the impresson that compressor to exhuast was ok and right side of compressor to left side was bad. i dont recall it moving that much though when i had it

Yeah you did say that AFTER IT GOT HERE AND I MADE A THREAD ABOUT IT!!
I payed $200 for a rebuilt snail from what I thought was a respected guy around here. Theres no ------- way in hell you didnt notice this large yellow marking and large crack or hear this thing moving from side to side. Then you say theres nothing you can do about a refund. I dont have the money in my budget to buy one of these "cartridges" you say I should buy nor do I know itll fix the problem because I read that once the axial has play, the wheel has already done its damagae and the turbo is junk. I wouldnt want to open this turbo up anyways, I have no experience Wouldnt mind my name taken out of your sig as well |

"grab both ends of the shaft and try to move it in and out, axial play. any axial play is terrible for a turbo, if this is enough for the fins to hit the housing the turbo is garbage. usually caused by the thrust bearing/washer grinding on the half moon oil disk, can be cured by a rebuild if the fins havent hit the housing"

i never said i didnt notice the yellow mark. i said i didnt notice that there was a crack there. you think i was out to screw you over when all i was trying to do was sell a turbo i thought was perfectly fine. if i thought it wasnt worht selling i wouldnt have sold it. do be a ------- cock to me, cause i really have no need to help you out if thats how your gonna act.
