K&N makes a universal filter that has a 3inch flange diameter and its only like 1.75 inch thick.

before i turned my turbo and downpipe around i didnt have enough room for a filer either. so i took my old filter cut it up took the cloth out of it and used a clamp with the mesh screen over it and called it a day. i would never just use a screen or nothing because it would just take once to get on a bad road to let in dust or sand. it would get in your turbo and your cylinder walls would be hurtin.

 

i saw those dyno charts as well on ht. I was full race or some other larger tuner shop..

wasnt it some 400-500+hp car though? i can see it blocking flow on higher hp cars, but not on sub250-300hp cars.

 

you nigs are forgetting that you're all talking about different screens. Some may have 1" openings but may still be considered a screen :P

 

I would go with a screen at the minimum...after seeing the carnage left over after my friends new turbo sucked up a rock within a month of installing it, i would never run one without a screen over it.

 

are those work nezarts on that jet engine car? those wheels are sweet. for that huge over fender, they sure did pick a shitty wheel/offset. "lets add a 4" overfender and get a 3" spacer" lol.

 

Im suprised no one has told him his turbo will ---- up whether or not it has a filter.
