Ford had Mazda as it's sibling. Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth was Mitsu.

lol i know all about it, i was running open dp for a while and all the locals thought i was a ricer, but when i blow the tires away from a 40mph roll that pretty much ended that way of thinking

The Escort GTs have the Mazda motor, I'm running the 2.0L Ford SOHC. Motors are pretty stout, I've seen a few running reliably at 200+hp, which is pretty good considering they're about 90hp stock Main thing is the cheap factor, I think jeffescortlx has around $300 into his turbo setup and he put down 140whp/188wtq...

There not bad. Cast iron closed deck. The rod's and pistons are about the strongest part of the entire car. Usally when they brake down it's from a blowen diff, fried clutch or somthing ghey like a dropped valve seat. These SOHC motor's are factory turbo charged in europe.

Ha yea, bought the wideband for my Supra and figured I'd put it to use. FMU works really well with the Ford EEC, after a couple of days of learning it works pretty seamlessly. Plus it was $80 and I'm too cheap to spend more on my beater car
