who woulda thought that someone could get a little under 300ft lbs out of a 2 liter escort? I do.
its not perty.. didnt ever want it to be. but it gets 42MPG and runs 14 flat at 12psi.
prety good for a 2600lb car

300lbs but how much hp

 

about 240hp.. it pulls from 1200-5k and i shift at 5200. its rev limited at 5700. with the loose *** gears it hits 40 in first.

 

btw, its the only escort i know of that can tow a 3/4ton chevy with a cord of wood on the highway at 75mph.

 

Get a bigger turbo. and what's the deal with the vtec valve comparo? everyone knows 1 valve from a 16 valve head will be smaller then a valve from an 8 valve head that's on a bigger displacement engine. you have to compare 2 vtec valves with that one on your escort's head . Oh and up the rev limiter...5k?? is it a diesel??(just joking)
Really up the revs and get a bigger turbo

hey, I always wondered when someone would do that since those cars are perfect for Squirtin' since they've already got all the right ignition hardware.

Is that the Ford block or the Mazda block that you are boosting, I don't know enough about them to know any different.


I wouldn't mind doing the same thing to a wagon (except I'll pay $20 for a mandrel bend for my downpipe..I thought I was cheap!)

Not too bad. Because I know of a 93 Escort with a 1.9LSOHC that can only run low 17's with a 65shot of nitrous. Those car are slow!!!!
