turbo-civic keep overheating.
 

ok..i been having my civic ex coupe turbocharge for about 2 month now i think not sure..tho, but anyway lately my car been overheating real easy..and most of the time i was driving normal not even going past 5000 rpm , and also when i am boosting i could get about 3 good runs before the car temp gauge goes up to hot real fast. just wanted to know if anyone else have this problem, and do i need a bigger radiator or what? oh yeah and im useing my stock one right now.

I say change the thermostat since its cheap and take your radiator to the shop and have them make it double core.

im gonna say u blew your headgasket...my car would be okay then after a 30 min drive as im just rolling into town or so. or stop n go traffic. my ---- starts to get hot. if your overflow tank is full. im gonna bet its your head gasket

if it is the head gasket I beleive the oil would look like cement cause the oil would mix with the anti freeze.atleast thats what happened to me >:(

yeah, i think it might be the head gasket im gonna change change it and see what happen. thankz alots ed , and also i fill up my coolant tank every week or 1 n half week or so . is this normal?

thermostat, radiator flush, fan switch temp sensor, i did all three after i boosted and it was the fan switch temp sensor you can buy different ones like ones that turn or sooner than others so the cooling system works more.

If your headgasket is blown, it wont necesarliy mean your oil will look like cement. The boost could be going into the cooling system therefore pressurizing it. Happened to me once. It has nothign to do with the oil, if I could upload a pic of my old HG id show you, all 4 fire rings (i think thats what theyre called) leaked through into the coolant passages. I had a felpro on there, so I got the head machined and bout a KP ($20 cheaper) that was made by Altrom. Also put new head bolts as my old ones I reused for the 4th time. It sees 10 psi of daily boost and not once does it even think about blowing again.

You might want to try a few things first:

1. Check for external leaks.

2. Make sure your fan is turning on.

3. Make sure your thermostat works (top and bottom radiator hoses should get hot after awhile).

4. Check your oil for coolant.

5. Free fixes: Purge the air pockets out of your cooling system.

6. Cheap fixes: Flush and refill the cooling system, replace radiator cap and thermostat.

7. More expensive fixes: Water pump, radiator

8. Maybe it's your headgasket?

9. You're fucked. Deal with it.
