i wouldnt attempt turbing that particular engine. very head gasket prone blowing coolant oil mixing things going on there. better to swap in a 2.5 or a 2.0 from a sunbird. first itll botl to the 5 speed trannys avaiabale for you truck from gm and secondly the EFI system for the sunbird if you find a turbo 2.0 complete will work out of the box. i wouldnt mess around with that oddball *** isuzu engine its a pile of junk. i do need a boat anchor so if you decide to go the other way and swap in a pre turboed GM motor then ill be glad to take it off your hands

OMG forgive me for saying that statment i wasn't trying to make that the whole state-ment i was just saying thats what most people here have the most experiance doing here. I know we here are about turbo-charging every thing but i m guessing over 70% of the people here have honda's or acura's. Sorry for the confusion.

On the stock 1986 impulse the turbo was capable of boosting pressure's of 7.5psi and 8.7psi for only 3 seconds at peak power! The car ran a ET16.6 or something i will havto double check on that one, but it did make 140hp(at the flywheel i bet)so we will just havto c what happens with the same turbo on a bigger engine ,more boost and lighter package!!
