Turbo on and car dies or check engine light, and car runs ugly...help!!!!!
OK SOOO i finish the whole set up and took out the wastegate spring so i wouldnt build boost. everything seems to be going cool for a couple days. than i go to a cscs even (local tunner event) dont race just watch. when i leave im driving home on a single lane hwy..behind grandma slow ***. so i drop to 4th take off, rev to about 7 grand (with b16a) and befor i can shift the engine light comes on and the car dies.
i pull over check under the hood, nothing looks out of the ordinary. start the car up and goes fine..........
this happens another time except the car doesnt die, the engine light comes on and the cars starts to run a little rougher....... i shut off the car and start it up again and everything is ok again.....
please help guys.. i want to go to the dyno and get it tuned soon i just dont want to get there to find my engine is ----, or somthing else is f#cked.
things to consider:
**only running one 02 sensor and b16 requires 2 just have the running into the one wire.
(have a 90 integra 02 i was going to hook up this weekend once the rest of the exhust gets finished.
**running no wastgate spring as mention befor.
**havnt swaped over my rc440 injectors yet (waiting til i go to dyno)
***still running the obd0 ecu----going to a p28 once at the tune shop
**havnt installed my colder spark plugs (again waiting til i go to tune shop to install them)
anything you guys know about this would help me group ideas together...

What size turbo do you have on your car? At 7k it might still build a little boost (very little lol) and toss a cel for the map sensor seeing positive pressure since you're not tuned for it yet. Try resetting the ecu and see how it runs, and make sure to keep the rpm's low and slow until you get fully tuned and set up right. Your o2 sensor wouldn't affect anything seeing it's an obd0 sensor on an obd0 ecu. And the secondary o2 jumper trick works just fine...even have it running on my car, just makes it use a little more fuel if anything. Also, why not look into just chipping the obd0 ecu instead of spending the extra money for a p28 and conversion harness? Check out a program called BRE for obd0 vtec ecu's...free program like TE and Uberdata, but could probably save you a little coin and do the same as your p28 would.

do you honestly think it would do the same as p28. the guy thats tuning it is soo well known and has done many cars down in this area. so im pretty much going to his shop t odo everything, so i were to do the obd0 thing i dont know how that would go over.
o and im going to hook up my boost gauge eaither tomorrow or the next to make sure its not makin boost.

didn get one yet.... forgot to.. so if the light comes on again can i then jump the wire under the glove box to read it as soon as the check engine came on.. like will the ecu already be throughing a code at this time??

well turns out its the map sensor... so i guess i was building boost 
. not cool. so i will def. park if not drive like a gramma til i go to the dyno.
