Turbo C5 build

i'm biulding my B18c5 for turbo i'm going with, DART interlocking sleeves,cp pistons, scat rods and a sc61 turbo. I was just wondering whut compression pistons i should go with i'm looking for 450+hp i just was wondering whut comp. ppl went with that made that much or more power

Damn, I was hoping to hear about a C5 build. As in a Corvette C5.

Anyways, I won't give advice on the comp ratio since I've never built an engine to handle that much power.

Re: Turbo C5 build

9:1 c/r will do fine, but if your using sleeves, you may as well bore the ---- out of them and go 84 mm.... :y

Re: Turbo C5 build

Why are you spending the big $ on sleeves for 450 hp, the stock sleeves should handle that no prob.

although many will argue the integrity of the stock sleeves at 450 hp should be fine and is dependant on tuning, having a reliable 450 hp will require aftermarket sleeves, and like i said if you want good torque numbers, you should go 84 mm bore.

almost the same setup I'm going to run, shooting for 450hp on a 84 mm c5 block, stock hype r head and a gt35r turbo. I would run 9-9.5:1 anywere in there is fine. I also like the idea of the little extra insurance/peace of mind sleeves give :y That setup will be capable of more, but what the ---- are you going to do with more :P

Re: Turbo C5 build

i was just shooting for 450 i mean if i can make more than good but i'm going with a stock type R head just gonna refresh it new seals etc. i wanna run cp pistons scat rods and oem rings and bearings with the SC61 like 15psi normal but like 20-25 track

Haha... that's how they name the generations of Corvettes. C1, C2, C3 etc. My buddies dad has both a C1 and a C5.

It's not the motor code.

he had me fooled i thought it was a vette....btw whats the difference between a b18c1 block that is sleeved and a b18c5 block that is sleeved?....besides the price water and oil pump?...wich are all interchangeable...can you just put a type r oil pump and water pump in a non typer AARRRR...b series block and sleeve it it should serve the same purpose shouldnt it?....im just a thinker sorry about all the blabing ^-^

I personally like the c5 better, ported head (only good if your pushing 400+) bigger valves , factory lsd, doesn't have a stupid intake butterfly ----, lighter flywheel, shall I go on?
