Default Turbo b18 cam adjustment

I just installed a set of crower 404 cams in my LS motor today. These cams are normally used for built N/A setups but alot of local guys have used these cams in their turbo cars and made alot of power. Anyways, I was wondering if I should installed the cams stright up (set to 0* on my adjustable cam gears or if they shoud be advanced or retarded slightly. Any info would be appreciated

Set it at 0 and go from there; only the dyno will really tell where they need to be. There not truly going to be at 0 though.

i would retard the intake came some and advance the exhaust cam some. N/A motors like valve overlap while turbos dont

You also have to realize we have no idea what else this motor has.

Your right, if it where a dohc vtec motor; I would say get a degree kit from Xenocron. In this case the dyno might be his best friend.

404's are essentially an ITR profile. You saying ITR cam's don't have overlap?

:P

If the exhaust is free flowing enough, a boosted engine acts more and more like a NA engine.

ya sorry about that....

stock LS bottom end(for now)
Built LS head from JG (full race port/polish)
-ferrera valve
-crower springs and retainers
-crower 404 cams
-victor x intake
-72mm tb
Equal length tubular manifold
60-1 garrett
3in. dp

ya its got a stock bottom end for now but I want to finish out the rest of the race season with it. There's 2 more streetcar shootouts at our local track (cecil county raceway) and I'd like to make it to honda day in atco, nj and impot vs. domestic @MIR. Over the winter I plan on building another botom end with rods and pistons.
