turbo aveo, just starting up
Hey guys,
Im a crossover from daewootech and aveo forum. Have a good amount of deployment money saved up and figured I wanna go for it. This site seems to have awesome info, so I wanted to get some opinions. Looking to run a t1544 on my stock manifold, one hole needs modifying and it bolts right up. The Injectors from the 3.4 impala/Monte carlo fit and are 360cc.. I have the #'s from a Daewoo guy to tune emanage. Sending a head of to get ported and polished in the next few weeks. I'm only aiming at 7-8 psi, good for 140-150. Biggest concern is the turbo has about an inch at the bottom even with the top of the oil pan, do I need an extra pump to avoid problems? Not asking if this is worth the money. I plan to do the labor, welding, and tuning myself using info from this site and the other 2, just looking if there is any immediate pointers.
Thanks!

Shouldn't be a problem as long as the line doesn't point upwards. Just to be on the safe side i'd keep the oil level to a minimum after mounting the turbo.
Shortest return line I've seen is on this guy's build

look for post 49.
Btw, you say you came over from daewootech. I see that doesn't work anymore, I was wondering if there could have been any info there about what injectors I could run on my 0.8 L Matiz. I'm gonna need them for stage two of my build so I might just start to look for them.

You will probably need a scavenge pump if you don't have a reasonable downhill run to the oil pan. This is a common problem with some aftermarket BMW turbo setups. You'll know for sure if the turbo generates lots of smoke.

yes, i think you should go with a return line. The Walbros can push lots of pressure and fuel,so it has to go back to the tank when you don't need it all.
The return line can be a bit smaller than the feed line.
Keep it up.
