you are right mr dr pep, all true race cars, like competition race cars are automatics. manual shifting is just too inconsitant. and i doubt anyone can shift as fast and as hard as a build auto tranny.

Do that and make sure you record the sound from the engine compartment, Bending and breaking of the metal are cool sounds;)

Well.. this may be a little known fact, at least it was to me, that the, at least in newer Hondas, automatics have a different camshaft in them that actually lower the HP so th tranny isn't beat on so hard. Maybe that comes from research on the older engines...

I would look into it more before you boost it hard.

I thought the automatics had a larger cam to overcome the loss of hp from the auto trans? I would contact level 10, i've heard the torque converter needs to be beefed to handle more than 170 hp. you can also adjust the cable from the trans to the throttle body and get it to shift sooner or later.

Interesting thought... I'll research it more, but so far, I've see that is where they pull HP as to not damage the tranny. But, it's definately worth the look..

If not for using an auto tranny, for myself going to use an auto Y8 head.. I'd rather not drop a new cam in if I don't have to..
