No, it shouldn't affect performance, however, if it ever cracks or you need to remove the downpipe, it might be a bitch. but, be forewarned, I bought that same T3 housing from vecco.net and the 5 bolt downpipe flange is not your typical 5 bolt flange. their style is slightly larger and I had a hard time finding one to fit the housing. That is if your planning on going external wg.

More than likely both Since your using an external wastegate, you'll be using one of those 5 bolt block off flanges that your downpipe welds to and bolts to the turbine housing. Those Vecco.net housings are not the ordinary Ford or Chrystler style t3 housing. The vecco housings are a little larger, meaning the 5 bolt blockoff flange will not fit. You'll need to find the correct 5 bolt flange for the housing. I beleive vecco also sells those but it's an extra $30 or so.

It's up to you dude. I mean if you want to use the housing you've already got, then why not just cut the downpipe off and make one that will fit? Or if you got the vecco housing, just ask them if a standard 5 bolt blockoff flange will fit the housing. They may have changed the design.
