Toyota CT-26 on a 1.5

I ice race a little CRX with a 1.5 d15 motor. I am never under about 3400 rpm. Is this Toyota turbo too small. Or will it work out ok. I have a TEo4H going on right now, but I'm planning a setup for the big wide open tracks that we sometimes race. Thanks guys

Randy

If I were you, I'd sell the CT26 and buy some type of T3. There are more upgrades that way, and you could probably sell the CT26 for quite a bit.

the ct26 is about the same size as a 63/60 T3 which will be a bit laggy

yeah but if he's gonna constantly be in the upper rpm's then I'd say go for it but once you get under where it's gonna be building boost then your car is gonna be sluggish so bad it's gonna feel like total ----.

To be 100 percent honest. I don't know ??? I think it came of a late 80's Supra. It has one inlet, I guess the MR2 had two inlets.

I don't know if this really matters, but this car gets raced on the ice in the winter. It's been under -30 and about 50 degrees is the hotest we will run in.
Check out the ice racing pics on this website

Randy

the early celica all-trac ct26 had single inlet like the supra.
you need to do some measurements on the compressor to be sure.
Supra:
Comp. Inducer
1.75"

Ice racing is the most fun you can have with your pants on. Where are you from late apex, I would hate to run agaist that AWD BMW.

Randy,

I would get a slightly smaller turbo.

I live outside of Boston, ice race in New Hampshire. If I was to ice race a turbo car, I would rather have something *slightly* laggier as opposed to some tiny snail that will spool violently. If you have it, and don't mind doing the fabrication, throw it on and see what you think 8)

Indeed, I hope you have the CT26 from the Supra rather than the Celica... the celica ct26 is pretty small, even for a D15..

Re: Toyota CT-26 on a 1.5

Thanks guys for all your help and advise. Too bad that I cut the hell out of a finger this week. Now there is no fab work in my future for a week or so. I'm going with my small turbo first, then if I have time-money than I will play with this turbo. I just needed to know what I had in the garage. Maybe a 2.0 litler is in my future, that would spin this toyota setup.
