ok, i'm debating on whether to go w/ the turbo setup.. or spend a little more for jackson racing's very own patented supercharger for my 88 crx dx. Does anyone here know which setup i'd be better off with in the long run.. i'm wanting a daily driver that can run some well respected numbers at the track.

turbo>s/c

Turbos don't take power to make power. It uses exhaust gas thats going to be wasted anyways where s/c need to run off a pully/belt. Turbos easier to upgrade and can make more power for less money.

ahh but turbos DO make more power, they are more efficient, and most blowers only produce peak boost at or near redline, where turbos will produce peak boost often throughout a wide powerband. Plus many centrifugal blowers (like a vortech) wont produce boost right off idle as well as youd think it would.

Turbo - Cheaper, more hp, doesnt take power to make power

SC - No lag, easy application

I actually almost got a JRSC for $300, I wish I would've bought it. If you find it cheap then do it, power is power.

So very true..........take a look at this dyno chart and you can see the difference between a S/C and turbo. The turbo has much more power under the curve.......and that's where it really matters.

Fine a cheap JRSC and then add a turbo also. I heard that those SC's had alot of problems and JR is the worst at customer service on those things.
