too much boost = engine cutout
alright , d16z6, t25 custom turbo setup hf mani etc.
when i push 5+ lbs of boost the engine cuts out, like it has hit fuelcutout or something when only at 5k and im WOT, already checked the map sensor, swapped it w/ my friends who is running 8lbs daily on his b18b, not the map sensor cuz it still did it then. He told me it may be the spark plug gap, i gapped them at .030 or 30 whatever, thbat could have changed though, and they are 1 step colder cuz i was running n02, and timing is retarded 2 - 4 degrees. anyone gimme some help on why this is happening, 5lbs just isnt fun, im trying to push 8 with my FMU, and the FMU is installed properly. |
Re:too much boost = engine cutout

Re:too much boost = engine cutout
its a nismo adjustable FMU suposedly a 12:1 disk, its the same one used on one of the turbo projects on the main page.
the manifold and adapter are all good no leaks there |
Re:too much boost = engine cutout
If it's adjustable, try to richen it up a bit.

Re:too much boost = engine cutout
It has a little threaded vacuum nipple and if you tighen it it yeah you know, but ih ave it all the way loosened, and yeah it puts out a shitload of smoke, the seals on the turbo are leakin i guess or something.
