i have a 99si w/b16. i recomend before boosting, compression check 210-220 compression on all four, plus see if your valves need to be adjusted, you know the click click click noise most higher milage honda engines make when the valves need adjustment. you won't blow your engine if you have enough fuel (good fuel management)go uberdata and 11psi and hold on tight 8)

Well, the plan was to use an ihi rhb5 from an 88 t-bird w/internal wastegate set to 7-8 psi. I have a friend that's boosted his 240sx & before I learned about uberdata, he was preaching to me about Apexi's AFC...so I already got a V-AFC off of ebay :( I think I might just throw it back on ebay and go w/Uberdata 'cuz I've been reading a lot at http://www.ecimulti.org/uberdata too. Doesn't seem too hard, just a little patience and intellegence. Is the V-AFC THAT much worse than uberdata? I heard that the V-AFC advances the ---- outa your timing, so you have to get the MSD timing retard thing to bring it back down. I think before i spend excess money on that ----, I'll go uberdata.

I had 235k miles on my old B7. Comp tested it, no burning oil or leaks I took good care of it. Then I boosted it at 10psi supercharged and drove the bitch to 265k miles. It still ran like a champ but I got rid of the weak little thing lol. First people told me "you can't run 10psi on a D15B7". Proved that wrong. Then it was too many miles. Wrong again! Boost that sucker if its in good health and tune the piss out of it!

miles are fine if its in good shape, but dont use an rhb5 on a b16, its against the rules. Get something bigger

Well. .. I got the rhb5 for free, with a 300 dollar rebuild. . . So I guess it wasn't really free :). But I'm going to use that for now, and all I have to do is swap the turbo for a t3 or t3/t4 /cuz it uses the same flange if I feel like upgrading. I know it's going to steam out at the top end. . .but I'll see how it performs. If I hate it, egh. . I'll upgrade.

As far as engine management goes. .. I just got my V-AFC controller in last night and the more I think about it, I think I might just go w/V-AFC w/MSD ignition retard system. I know it's more expensive, and I know a lot of people here are biased towards Uberdata. It really seems like a great deal. But, I bought the V-AFC already, so I want to try it out. If I tune it correctly with the V-AFC & MSD, will it be as safe as Uberdata? Also. . . is V-AFC easy to tune with, or should I get a shop to do it? I know I would have to have some kinda datalogging & wb02 for self tuning. . . Anyone who has experience with Apexi's V-AFC, let me know. Thnx.

that ihi isnt worth the time its going to take to swap it out. And a vafc with a btm still wont be as good as uberdata at all. the afc you could use since you aldreay have it as a start, but the ihi is basically useless on a b-series motor. I had the same one on a d16 and got sick of it in about two weeks
