Oh man I wish I could afford to make some titanium back plates. They expand very very little compared to other metals while being really strong. |

14G or thinner will require a good design and good welding, and possibly bracing. Honda people usually get away with sch10 pipe fittings due to price and compactness. Its also easier to to get fairly strong weld with a fat bead on thick material, than with a thin weld on thin material.
